The EET 2.0 system presented by the Czech administration concerns recording payments made in contact between the customer and the business. The announced scope must therefore not be equated with indiscriminate reporting of every movement in a company's bank accounts.
The new system provides for a reduced volume of data: the official portal states, in particular, that details of goods or services and their breakdown by VAT rate are not required in this record. The description of the system also abandons the requirement to print a receipt systematically.
For a retailer, preparatory work consists of identifying receipts within the announced scope and the data transmitted for each. A till test can then check consistency between the payment received and the record produced. Simplifying the data sent to the administration does not mean that commercial information becomes unnecessary for accounting. Technical configuration must still be aligned with the documentary obligations actually applicable to the activity.
Preparing tills must take account of these differences without removing documents needed for other tax obligations. The announced timetable targets a launch on 1 January 2027. The technical description and adoption announcements do not, however, replace checking the legislation ultimately enacted to determine whether a particular operator is within scope.
