Skatteverket opens the assessment campaign for single-family homes. The document received determines the required action: a correct assessment proposal may require none, while an actual property return must be submitted.
Changes to the property require particular attention. The administration invites owners to check, in particular, construction and renovation since 2024. The comparison must therefore concern the home's current characteristics, not just the proposed value.
Not responding is therefore consistent with the announcement only if the document is indeed a proposal and its data are correct. A fall in value considered favourable does not remove the need to examine works carried out. To prepare that check, the owner can reconcile the description used with changes to the property; the question remains how these affect the individual assessment, not automatic application of a national trend.
The announced deadline is 2 November 2026, with decisions expected in June 2027. Sales data from 2023 to 2025 serve as the reference for this campaign. The average change mentioned by the administration does not, however, prejudge each property's assessment: location, characteristics and declared changes retain their individual significance.
